Blog - Data Center & My B-Day Posted on: July 18, 2010 by Bren2010 -  PermalinkSorry for not posting in forever! I was always busy, or on vacation, or just plain wanting to do something else.
Just for the sake of it, I'm going to post in the format worst-to-best events of my month so far.
First of all, the polyp I have in my nose. Apparently, there's a big, fat, freaking polyp in my nose, and it's not important enough to get me an appointment until the end of the month (I was diagnosed at the start of the month). I talked my step-grandma because she had one before, and she said it was pretty much just like a wart. People just get them, no one knows why, but I tell you what. It's a bitch. I'm constantly having snotty blood coming out of my nose, and I'm always tired and starving because it's a form of benign tumor. I know what your thinking 'How tired can he be composing Z-list blog posts in the middle of the night', but you tell that to my armada of snack bags and 3 available source of caffeine. It's summer break. I' staying awake for as many hours as possible doing whatever I want.
Secondly, my birthday was last week and my grandma took us on vacation to a rented cabin in Georgia. The first 1.75 days were AW. . .
Wait a second. . . There's some little weird icon in my system tray. . . It's just a white 'A' on a black background. . . Nothing will come up when I hover over it or click it. . . Wait! Where the hell did it go?!? It was probably paint or something, but oh well. I closed everything out, and have McAfee running (Thank you grandma! (I'll explain later)).
Anyway: ESOME!!! The cabin was so huge, we each had our own floor! We tubed down the Chattahoochee river twice, went downtown to a candy shop called Hansel & Gretels, and ate at two restaurants. We went to Hofer's in Helen for lunch one day, and we waited for an hour for an 'eh' $50 dollar lunch that made us wonder why the heck it was so freaking full. On the second day, we wen to a place called Paul's. Once again, no excitement. All the recipe's are just simple, traditional, ma & pop. I got the shrimp scampi, which if you define, it says "large shrimp sauteed in oil or butter and garlic", and that's all it was. When I've had it before, it at least had lemon, or some gourmet touch.
Now we're getting into the better parts of my week. My birthday was on the 12th, and it rocked thanks to my mom and grandma! I'm not going to go through everything, but my grandma got me the best laptop EVER since my ancient, illegal, hijacked (software wise ), and slow computer just up and decided to give up on me. It's also thanks to my grandma that I'm writing this when I am, or I would have to be waiting for my mom to stop playing solitaire or get off Facebook at, like, 10pm on her not much more ancient, and much slower computer. Don't get me wrong though. My mom got me a lot of awesome stuff too. Mostly though, green stuff I can use to buy more stuff for my computer .
Now, you're probably wondering what the fell "Data Center" is, since I put it in the title, but haven't mentioned it once. That is a fair question. However, I can't answer it. Good bye.
Jk, jk. Data Center is a program a built to monitor multiple channels for activity or changes, such as checking if websites are down, checking scripts on websites, checking mailboxes for new messages, running customized scripts to do more advanced checking, and if it's run on localhost, it can even tell if you have internet access!
Although, version 1 wasn't designed for security. It was more built for ease of use, and I understand there is bugs in the JavaScript. That's why I only recommend running it on localhost by more experienced devs that know how to patch an error or use a workaround in something they're doing.
I should have it packed for distro and up on the downloads page soon!Comments |
